eep24c software package provides read and write serial I2C eeprom devices, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install eep24c
eep24c is installed in your system.
Make ensure the eep24c package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep eep24c *
You will get with eep24c package name, version, architecture and description in a table
